Companies that have been considering Cisco Meraki access points may be interested to know that Meraki is holding a Buy Five Stream Live promotion now through July 28, 2018. With the purchase of five qualifying MR access points, a MV security camera and three-year license will be included for free!

Cisco Meraki’s inter-connectivity and cloud-managed dashboard make them a premier choice for companies seeking network visibility and remote access capabilities. MR access points are self-configuring, can be deployed remotely, provide real-time alerts, update automatically and much more.

Sound appealing? To help you decide if you will be buying five and streaming live, we have pulled together an overview of the four qualifying access points: the MR52, MR53, MR53E and MR84.

Comparing the Meraki MR52, MR53, MR53E and MR84 Access Points

1 - MR52

The MR52 is an 802.11ac Wave 2 AP, with a 4x4 MU:MIMO antenna array and the potential for up to 2.5Gbps in throughput. It includes two internal antennas as well. One does continuous environmental scanning, used for frequency-adjustment as well as intrusion detection\prevention. The other is a low-power Bluetooth Beacon, allowing for multiple interactions with connected devices.

2 - MR53

The MR53 access point is similar to the MR52, with one key difference. Where the MR52 has two Gigabit Ethernet uplinks, the MR53 includes both a Gigabit Ethernet port, as well as a 2.5Gbps multigigabit port. This helps ensure the MR53 always has bandwidth to spare, preventing it from bogging down under heavier use.

3 - MR53E

The MR53E is one of Meraki's newest APs. It includes several special features, including six RP-TNC antenna connectors. The combination of Meraki antennas, including dipole, omni-coverage, and both wide and narrow-patch, allows for modular Wi-Fi coverage. In addition, the MR53e includes two more radios: one for WiFi tracking and security surveillance, and the other for a low-power Bluetooth beacon radio

4 - MR84

The MR84 is a top-of-the-line Meraki product, a full-featured 802.11ac Wave 2 AP explicitly designed for deployment in high-use/high-congestion situations, like sports stadiums.

The unit is ruggedized and weatherproof, with an IP67 rating. It allows for seamless roaming and includes high-powered smart systems to allow for shifting broadcast range and frequency. This capability delivers uninterrupted service for the optimum number of users. External antenna hookups allow for superior coverage shaping, and 2.5Gbps uplinks maximize available bandwidth.
